M&SChristmas Campaign

MPC teams up with ODD to go jumpers for Christmas in dazzling new M&S spot

Directed by Jake Nava, M&S has launched its energetic Christmas advert set to the iconic House of Pain track “Jump Around”. The spot shows off 50 different jumpers from the nations biggest knitwear retailer, which sparks “jumping around” with wild, disjointed movements before shifting into a group routine built around a signature movement in which the right shoulder is rolled back and forth.

MPC handled the VFX with colour from Yoomin Lee.

Senior Flame Artist Lora Nikolaeva said: “This was an intensive job that required a lot of VFX magic, such as the addition of Christmas lights, fake snow, and matte painting. One of the most challenging tasks was bringing the jumper to life as it required lots of testing, however I am extremely happy with the final result. It was great to work on something different for the brand and be trusted to help them bring their vision to life.”

Reflecting on the grade, Yoomin said: “It was great to collaborate on ODD London’s first M&S Fashion film for Christmas. The vibe for this uplifting fashion campaign was full of colour and fun. The grade approach was maintaining the warm and cosy feeling of Christmas whilst keeping it realistic”.
