MPC reteamed with Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai to bring to life Nike’s Chinese New Year film about a family bonding experience expressed through the usual irreverent W+K style and flare.
For the climatic dance sequence, the auditorium was filled to capacity through the use of multiple plates comped together from an initial group of 60 extras. To enhance the spectacle, flame pyrotechnic elements were added by the compositing team. Additional lasers and light rays were created in C4D.
The campaign was directed by Xi Ran for production company Pandemic and accompanied by three 20 second vignette films.
The charming story marks another successful partnership between Nike, Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai and MPC.
